Back!

Hey friends! Maizie Day, here! How is my adoring fan club?

We just got back from the shore and had ourselves a grand time. Brother Edge likes the beach a lot. It doesn't strike my fancy though! Baby was too embarrassed to be seen on the beach in her current state of fatness. I have to keep reminding her beauty is on the inside. Unless you're me, then it's both! ;)

Photobucket

Nothing new to report- Edge is settling in well with us and we actually like having the little guy around. Mom got another one of those hermit crab things- his name is Atticus. *eye roll*

So that's my update- short and sweet- just like ME!

Maizie Day In Love!

Maizie, here!

I finally kicked the other two off the computer (and Mom too!) so that I can make my special announcement.

I. AM. IN. LOVE.

Yes, my friends. It is true. I have fallen in love. With none other than ELWOOD. Yes, you read that right. That's Elwood- winner of the 2007's Ugliest Dog Competition.

LOVE!

And while people may judge him based on his appearance, he is one of the BEST dog's I've ever met. (And trust me, I've met my share of hounds!) Elwood's got a heart of gold- he loves everyone he meets and he touches people's lives. He makes people see beyond appearances- to the beautiful person (or dog) you are inside.

And he loves pitbulls- which makes him EXTRA UBER AWESOME in my book.

LOVE!

Here I am with Elwood. I'm so happy, I want to breakdance!

How true it is- Everyone loves Elwood and I do too. :)

Happy July!

Maizie can't believe the Fourth of July is over and neither can we! She'd like to wish you a Happy Entire Month of July!

Happy Bully!

She hopes you can come and see her at the Hatboro Pet Rescue Fair on Saturday July 17th! She will be making her debut along with Maizie Day Photography. There will also be a Kiss-a-Bull & Hug-a-Bull booth set up where visitors can meet Maizie and give her a hug and a kiss for a great cause!

Hope to see you there!

Drum Roll, Please!

We are proud to announce the official launch of...

MAIZIE DAY PHOTOGRAPHY

Maizie Day Photography is a by-product of the Maizie Day Foundation, a soon to be non-profit organization dedicated to dispelling the pitbull stigma as well as other myths surrounding many breeds of dogs.

Maizie Day Photography is dedicated to helping homeless pets find their forever families. Our mission is to get animals noticed through photographic expression. We hope to capture their individual personalities through the lens and in turn, get them noticed by potential adopters.

We are so excited about this launch and can't wait until our debut at the Hatboro Pet Rescue Fair!

Introductions...

I'm not very good at introductions and neither is Maizie considering she is a 30-pound little terror terrier who wouldn't know tact if it nipped her in the... needless to say, I may or not be the better candidate but I decided I would do the introductions anyway.

There are three key players in this saga with which you will become familiar-

Didi- the writer, the one who will be documenting the adventures of our little trio, the one who said, "hey, let's get a dog!" and then said, "my gosh, what have we done?" Alas... she eventually came around.

Jamie- a very understanding and supportive husband who fixes things in a pinch (regardless of the destruction) and often finds himself holding the leash while his lovely wife disappears off and promises to be back... no longer than five minutes, really.

Maizie- the four-legged third-wheel who accompanies her owners on most trips. Maizie is a 9-year old pit bull mix who spent two months in a shelter before being adopted. Despite what her evil owners may say about her, she is a sweet dog who is an absolute angel when left home alone (Wait, who wrote that?)

I created this blog to document the adventures of Miss Maizie. You'll find little snips from my upcoming book as well as pictures and memories we have stored away and trust me... it's quite a collection.

Recently, I had a discussion with my husband as I weighed the options in my head, letting doubt cloud my mind as I told him, "I just don't know if I have a story to tell." He looked at me with that charming way of his and said, "Maizie does."

And so it begins.

Lastly, I told Maizie this isn't the Academy Awards or anything but she would just like to say thank you to whoever is out there reading. Hope you enjoy the ride.
